The Michigan Campus Sexual Assault Workgroup is following up on a request by Governor and First Lady Snyder to identify best practices for prevention and create a model program to enhance the investigative process for reports of sexual misconduct on Michigan’s campuses.
The work group made several recommendations that includes securing senior leadership commitment, engaging community stakeholders, assessing current strengths and areas for targeted improvement related to policies, programs and procedures for sexual assault prevention and response.
The First Lady says she’s confident these recommendations will assist universities in their prevention work.
The group is still working on a location to test a pilot program.
First Lady Sue Snyder sat down for an in-depth interview with 6 News anchor Sheri Jones and that interview can be seen online and on 6 News next week.
