Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed a bill that will streamlines the process for medical marijuana and industrial hemp applications.

Senate Bill 203 takes effect immediately and updates the definition of “applicant.”

Owning more than a 10 percent stake in a company requires the standard vetting process while owning less than a 10 percent stake would be a more streamlined process.

The bipartisan supported bill was sponsored by Senator Michael MacDonald.
