UPDATE: Lansing Police have released the following information regarding the robbery that took place around 7:30 a.m., at the Speedway on E. Michigan Ave. and N. Clemens Ave.
The robber was described as black man, in between his 30’s and 40’s, with a 5’8 skinny build. The man was seen wearing a long sleeved, black hooded sweatshirt and a black mask.
Officers were told that the man came into the store with a handgun and demanded money. The man was given money and then left the store on foot.
Police set up a perimeter around the Speedway, using a K9 to try and track the man’s scent. The search was unsuccessful.
No one was injured in the robbery.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Around 7:30 this morning, Lansing Police responded to calls of an armed robbery at the Speedway on the corner of E. Michigan Ave. and N. Clemens Ave. Officials have also closed off parts of E. Michigan Ave. and the scene is active.
Lansing Catholic High School President Dominic Iocco tells 6 News that their school was in a lock down for roughly an hour due to the armed robbery happening less than a mile away.
The school is now out of the lockdown after getting the all clear from police.
Neighbors tell 6 News law enforcement was seen chasing a person from the Speedway on foot.
