More hunting licenses issued as pandemic continues

Michigan

As the coronavirus pandemic continues, wildlife officials are issuing a record number of hunting and fishing licenses.

In Michigan, the number of people getting hunting licenses for the first time in at least five years has jumped 80 percent.

It reverses a steady decline in recent years.

Officials said it is also potentially providing a new source of food for families and food banks that are struggling to meet the need.
