(WLNS) – Dozens of people are gathering on the steps of the State Capitol to show their support for the Second Amendment.
The Lansing rally is being held on the same day that thousands of people rallied in Richmond, Virginia to protest a plan by that state’s Democratic leadership to pass gun-control legislation.
Three bills passed in Virginia on Thursday, all centered around stronger gun-regulations. One would limit the amount of hand-guns people could purchase in a month while others would require background checks for gun-transfers and prohibit firearm possession in public spaces.
Although the rules would only impact people in Virginia, gun-activist in Lansing say everyone’s second amendment rights are under attack.
President Trump tweeted his support for the rally this afternoon.
