Police investigating homicide on Lansing’s south side

Lansing Police are on the scene of a homicide on the city’s south side.

Officers say they responded to a call to the 4800 block of S. Pennsylvania around 5:30 p.m. Witnesses told police there was a woman covered in blood.

When they arrived, they found the woman’s body. They consider the case a homicide.

Mark Young, who lives next door to the complex, said it’s frightening to have something like this happen so close to home.

“It makes me feel very unsafe and uncomfortable,” he said. “This is usually a quiet neighborhood here. There’s not a lot of loud people here, not a lot of riff-raff going on.”
