Suspect identified after gunfire at Jackson party leaves four injured

The Jackson County Sheriffs Office just released the mugshot of 21-year-old, Austin Wells, who was charged for shooting four people over the weekend.

Witnesses told police they were at a party on Homewild Street when a fight started outside and the shooting suspect pulled out a handgun and fired a shot into the air to disperse the crowd, Jackson Director of Police and Fire Services Elmer Hitt said.

Three victims took themselves to Henry Ford Allegiance Health and the fourth was taken by ambulance.

The suspect was located in his home on Loomis Street and taken to the hospital for treatment. After being treated, the suspect was taken to the Jackson County Jail where he is currently in custody.
