Uber could shut down service on west coast this week

Michigan

Uber officials said it may put the breaks on its service in California as early as tomorrow.

The ridesharing service posted the notification to users on its blog.

The move came after a state court gave Uber ten days to re-classify its drivers as employees.

The drivers re currently contractors, meaning they don’t get benefits such as minimum wage or paid sick leave.

Uber said that it’s appealing the decision.
