UPDATE: 18-year-old man dead after fight, Jackson County officials rule it as a homicide

UPDATE: The victim in an weekend homicide has been identified.  According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Drevier Jaquia Gallegos-Langston, 18, of Jackson was stabbed to death early Sunday morning.  Investigators are asking anyone who was at the party and may have information to contact them at 517-768-7931.

GRASS LAKE TWP., Mich. (WLNS) – An 18-year-old man from Jackson is dead after a fight broke out in Grass Lake Township and Jackson County Sheriff’s officials are ruling it as a homicide.

Just before 3:30 Sunday morning, authorities from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, along with Grass Lake Fire and Jackson Community Ambulance responded to a fight at a field party in the 4000 block of Fishville Road.

While deputies were on scene, three victims who were injured arrived to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital.

One victim, an 18-year-old man from Jackson, died at the hospital. The two other victims are currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police and Blackman Leoni Twp. Department of Public Safety are investigating the incident.

However, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency in this investigation and ask if anyone has any information, to contact Sheriff Steve Rand at 517-768-7924.
