UPDATE: Suspect caught after hours-long search is identified

UPDATE (Wednesday 4:00 p.m.) – Eaton County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man arrested after a long search and standoff Tuesday night.  Ray Anthony Williams, 50, was arrested after deputies surrounded a home on 5 Point Highway, between Brookfield Road and Narrow Lake Road. They say they were able to negotiate with the suspect and get him to come out around 9 p.m. Williams was arraigned today and he faces two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon with other charges pending.

UPDATE (11 p.m.): Deputies say the suspect is in custody after an 8-hour manhunt.

Deputies surrounded a home on 5 Point Highway, between Brookfield Road and Narrow Lake Road. They say they were able to negotiate with the suspect and get him to come out around 9 p.m.

The suspect had a felony warrant out for his arrest, and is awaiting charges in the Eaton County jail. His name will not be released until he is arraigned.

In the Charlotte area there is an active search for a suspect in the area of E Five Point Hwy and Brookfield who may be armed and dangerous.  

Police caution area residents to remain inside with their doors locked and not travel to the area until an all clear is given.  

The individual is described as a light skinned black male, long dreadlocks, late 50’s, last seen wearing a tan Carhartt style jacket and blue jeans.
