UPDATE: Two face charges after fight, shooting

UPDATE (4:43pm): Two Lansing residents face charges after a fight that ended with shots being fired.

Lansing Police say it started just after midnight on Monday morning. They responded to a fight and a report of gunfire along the 1100 block of Cleveland.

That’s where police say they found a 54-year-old Lansing man with minor injuries. They interviewed him and several other witnesses, who told them a man and a woman got into an argument, then a fight with the victim before the woman pulled out a gun and pulled the trigger. No one appeared to hit by any bullets.

Armed with that information – including the suspects’ names, a description of the car, and a possible location, they went to the 1100 block of Farrand and found the two suspects in a home there. Police say they also found the gun they think was involved.

Police arrested 40-year-old Quovades Shermone Jacobs. Prosecutors charged her with four crimes today including assault with intent to murder, carrying a concealed weapon, felony firearms charges, and refusing to provide a sample of DNA. A judge set her bond at $10,000.

Police also arrested 17-year-old Quovon James Horne. He faces one misdemeanor count of assault and battery. A judge set his bond at $2,500.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Lansing police say two people are waking up in jail this after a fight in the street led to shots being fired.

It happened early Monday just after midnight on the 1100 block of Cleveland Street.

Police say the shooter fled the scene but two suspects have been arrested since then.

Nobody was hurt by the gunshots and police tell 6 News that injuries from the initial fight were minor.
