Governor Gretchen Whitmer is continuing her “Road to Opportunity Tour”.today.
She’s already been to Grand Rapids and Detroit to gather public support for her budget.
And today, she’s in Jackson.
She’s visiting classrooms at Northeast Elementary School to encourage students to read.
March is Reading Month.
The governor will also sit down with representatives from Jackson to discuss her recent budget recommendation during an afternoon session at Jackson College.
As part of those discussions it is expected that she will explain her plans for fixing Michigan’s roads and bridges, investing in education, closing the trade skills gap and cleaning up Michigan’s water supply.
