MSU Students Paint Rock To Honor Princess Lacey

News

EAST LANSING, MI (WLNS) – It was a somber moment on Michigan State University’s campus Tuesday night as students gathered to remember the life of Lacey Holsworth.

The rock is a campus staple at MSU and on Tuesday night students got together to paint a message onto the rock, honoring her life.

Lacey was 8 years old when she passed away from nerve cell cancer.

She became a fixture at Spartan basketball games and had a special connection with former MSU basketball player Adreian Payne.

“The connection they had was definitely touching. I think a lot of kids felt for Adreian Payne when he lost her and just the special bond they had really made her cause stand out,” said Tyler Houtstra, Lacey’s Legacy.

Students are inviting anyone to come sign the rock Wednesday after Tuesday’s gathering is finished.
