After nearly two years of court battles the Facebook page for the “Friends of Ormond Park” posted “It is now official. The case of the Friends of Ormond Park vs. the City of Lansing is over. A long and disappointing journey.”

In October of 2017, 6-News reported that an Ingham County Judge denied a motion filed by neighbors aimed to stop construction in the park once again which meant construction continued as planned for the city. While some legal options were left, crews were already digging through the park laying the ground work for the new road.

This all started as the city began to pave a new driveway to Groesbeck Golf Course through Ormond Park.

The members of “Friends of Ormond Park” said they did not want to lose green space for kids to play and the road could raise environmental concerns.

However, city officials argued that the new entrance would generate more revenue for the golf course that was losing money every year.
