Police: Body found in water could be missing woman

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – After a concerned citizen informed police of a body in the water near MLK, police sent out a dive team.

It happened around 3 p.m. Friday near MLK and Grand River.

The Capital Area Dive Team recovered the body. Police believe the body is Josephina Betancourt, who was reported missing by her family on April 25.

Police do not know how the person died at this time. An autopsy has been scheduled while police continue to investigate.
