Jackson and Amtrak police are looking for the person who tried to sabotage the train tracks there today.

Amtrak Police told the Jackson Police on Wednesday morning about someone who piled up debris on a track. An Amtrak officer found the pile of rocks and metal on the track between N. Jackson and N. Blackstone St.

The train company says the way it was piled up appears intentional and that it could have created a dangerous situation.

Anyone who knows anything about the situation should call the Jackson Police Department at (517) 768-8782.

Jackson Police also say it’s illegal to walk along the tracks or on railroad property, and that anyone who does can get a ticket or face arrest.
