(WLNS) – Many eyes will be on President Obama Tuesday as he delivers his State of the Union address for the last time as president
The president is expected to touch base on a number of issues including minimum wage, immigration and gun control.
As 2016 marks the 8th and final year of President Obama’s term in the Oval Office, White House officials say Americans can expect a speech unlike any of the president’s previous addresses.
“The president’s delivering a speech that’s not about him, it’s about the American people and the future of our country,” said White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest.
The address will be delivered at 9 p.m. Tuesday to a joint session of congress. 6 News will have a recap of the address on 6 News at 11.
