School Day Legislation Could Increase Allowed Snow Days


(WLNS) – To put snow day numbers across the state in perspective. Last year, Michigan schools canceled an average of nine and a half days of class.

Now a lawmaker from Cadillac is introducing a bill in the house that would up the number of days school are allowed to miss.

The measure give schools nine days to miss before they would have to add days. Right now Michigan allows schools six days.

The lawmaker that introduced the bill says it’s meant to keep kids safe.
