LANSING, MI (WLNS) - A semi truck went off the road and hit a guardrail on southbound 127 near Saginaw Highway around 3:20 a.m.
Police say rain may have been a factor in the crash.
The trailer was empty and officers think it hydroplaned causing the driver to lose control on the roadway.
Both the trailer and the truck got hung up on the guardrail.
About 90 gallons of diesel fuel was spilled onto the road and police say the DEQ has been notified.
The crash shut down a portion of southbound 127 for about three hours Friday morning.
Drivers were urged to avoid the area while officials cleaned up the scene.
Police say the driver of the semi has no major injuries.
As of 6:50 a.m. the highway is back open.
