JACKSON, MI (WLNS) – Tenants at one Jackson apartment building have been feeling uncomfortable with the heat for some time. For weeks residents living at Jackson’s Park Forest apartments have complained that their units are too hot.
“Their air conditioning was not working to their satisfaction and, so my staff worked with their management, with the residents and we thought we had arrived at satisfaction with the residents but, clearly they are not all satisfied yet and the weather is getting warm,” said (R) 64th District Representative Earl Poleski.
First Housing Corporation owns Park Forest Apartments and the Vice President of the company told 6 News today the air is working but not good enough for everyone.
Poleski said, “I believe that management wants their tenants to be comfortable. They’re doing as much as they can given the difficult situation they find themselves in right now. But of course, there are people who live there who are not entirely satisfied and some are medically frail so we’re trying to make sure we understand what’s happening between the tenants and the management.”
But inside of these walls, some residents feel it’s an unfair problem that has taken too long to fix.
“The management company said they had tested the temperatures. The temperatures were adequate. I’m not sure the residents agree,” said Poleski.
Park Forest Apartment officials say they are bringing some portable air conditioners for some residents.
