(WLNS) – Prescription drug addiction is a growing problem here in Michigan which is why Governor Rick Snyder and Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley have formed a task force.

They are looking for specific and effective ways to stop prescription drug and pain-killer abuse.

Numbers show addiction has quadrupled the number of unintentional drug deaths in Michigan since 1999.

State officials are dedicating $1.5 million towards the new task force to help curb this kind of abuse.
