State Police investigate child drowning in Hillsdale County

HILLSDALE, CO., Mich (WLNS) - Michigan State Police are investigating a drowning last night in Hillsdale County that took the lilfe of a 2-year-old child.

According to the Michigan State Police it happened last night at about 7:00 p.m. in the 200 block of Hog Creek  Road.

The child got into an aluminum fishing boat that was on the shore of a pond, then fell over the back of the boat and into the pond.

The family quickly found the child unconscious and unresponsive, called emergency personnel and began CPR.

The child was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
