TECH TUESDAY: Samsung annouces plan to dissolve plastic packaging

Samsung annouced it is now joining other large tech companies in the push to go green.

In the push to go green, the packaging and mauals for an array of Samsung deives such as mobile phones, tablets and home appliance will be environmentally friendly.

The company said by 2020, it will only use fiber materials certified by global environmental organizations for paper in terms of packaging and manuals.

By 2030, Samsung aims to use 500,00 tons of recycled plastics and collect 7.5 million tons of discarded products.

In a Samsung Newsroom release, the head of Samsung’s Global Customer Satisfaction Center, Gyeong-bin Jeon said, “Samsung Electronics is stepping up in addressing society’s environmental issues such as resource depletion and plastic wastes. We are committed to recycling resources and minimizing pollution coming from our products. We will adopt more environmentally sustainable materials even if it means an increase in cost.”
