Teen airlifted to hospital after car crashes into tree

EATON RAPIDS, MI (WLNS) – A teen and his dog were on their way to a park when the car they were traveling in crashed into a tree.

It happened around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday along Waverly Road, south of Curtice Road in Eaton Rapids.

Officials were able to get the 17-year-old out of the car. He was airlifted to Sparrow Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

The dog was found at a nearby home after running away from the crash. Officials say the dog is okay.

Police do not believe speed was a factor in the crash.
