In celebration of International Women’s Day, which takes place on March 8, 2019, a group of local women business owners has collaborated to present “Women’s Week – Tour the Town” from March 4-10.

This wellness-centered event invites residents to explore the area’s health and fitness studios, many of which are owned by women.

Participating businesses for Women’s Week – Tour the Town are:

• Fit4Mom Meridian Township

• FlexCity Fitness

• MI Hot Yoga Studios (4 locations)

• Polistic

• Spartan Spin

• Stilettos & Steel

• The Barre Code

• YAY Fit

• Veggie Fit Extreme

Each participating business is selling a “Ticket to Tour” for $25 –buyers will have access to a free class at each one of the nine participating studios.

After buying their ticket, customers can visit each studio during the week-long event to redeem their free class. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to The Firecracker Foundation, a Holt-based nonprofit that provides holistic healing services to child survivors of sexual trauma under the age of 18 in the tri-county area of Mid-Michigan.

The event was spearheaded by Maggie Olds, co-owner of Lansing Hot Yoga. “I just really love the idea of women supporting women, and International Women’s Day seemed like a great time to try something new and bring a larger group of us together,” Olds said. “I’m excited about working with so many fellow women business owners to do something bigger than we all could have done alone. We’re all excited not only to welcome people into our businesses, but to give back to an incredible cause.”

Tickets are on sale now at all participating businesses.
