(WLNS) — A group of local women is bringing all the grace and flare of figure skating to greater Lansing.

The Ladies Silver Blades skate club meets every Thursday at the Suburban Ice Complex in East Lansing from 9:30am – 11:20am, and is mostly made up of woman who’ve retired from their careers.

Club Vice President, Anne Gnagi, says they have about 45 ladies on the team right now, but could always use more, and it doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or an expert.

The team has a professional coach who puts safety first, and also choreographs routines.

Gnagi adds that the official season runs from September through May, with a performance in April.

The Silver Blades require dues, $60/year and a $12 cost to be registered by the US Figure Skating Association.

The club allows perspective members to join them on the ice twice for free during any of their Thursday meet ups.
