This Morning: Today is the last day to register to vote in November election


Election day is November 6th but the voter registration deadline is today.

Michigan residents have until the close of business on Tuesday to sign up to vote next month.

There will be several big questions on the ballot this November including who will be Michigan’s next Governor and a proposal to legalize marijuana in Michigan.

To sign up, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, and live in the city or township where you’re hoping to vote.

When you’re ready to apply you’ll need to visit a SOS office or your local clerk by the close of business today.

Ingham County Clerk, Barb Byrum is encouraging voters to vote absentee if possible to help cut down on wait lines election day.

She says tens of thousands of absentee ballots have already been sent out to voters in Ingham County.
