(WLNS) – On this week’s “Work It Out Wednesday” we’re focusing on preventing injury. A lot of people hit the gym with good intentions but end up injuring themselves while trying to meet their fitness goals.
6 News This Morning reporter Mariah Harrison and fitness expert Walter Crockett are making sure that doesn’t happen to you. Today they’re working with foam rollers to demonstrate the proper technique for stretching.
The benefits include improved tissue quality, blood flow and releasing trigger points – those knots you feel in your body. The foam roller massages out those trigger points and improves flexibility, decreases recovery time between workouts and helps with injury prevention.
