This Morning: Kicking the cigarette habit

This Morning

Thursday is the annual “Great American Smokeout“, a time set aside to help people who smoke cigarettes to quit.

New national data shows that cigarette smoking has reached the lowest level ever recorded among adults in the United States.

In 2017, an estimated 14 percent of U.S. adults were current cigarette smokers, a decrease of 15.5 percent in 2016 and 67 percent since 1965.

Matt Phelen of the American Cancer Society stopped by 6 News This Morning to talk with Jorma Duran about cigarette smoking and how people can get help if they want to quit.
