Thousands make it out to Capitol City River Run

(WLNS) – More than 3,000 runners pounded the pavement in downtown Lansing today for the Capitol City River run.

More than 30 states were represented at the race, where a marathon, half marathon and 5K were held, many runners using the race as a Boston Marathon qualifier.

People started making it out to Adado Riverfront by around 7 a.m. where the start and finish lines were located.

Tents, trucks and inflatables awaited the runners at Adado park for the after party, for food, refreshments and activities.

The race benefits Impression 5 Science Center and many people from the community make it out every year, some to be pacers and help racers keep time and set personal goals.
