“Trickle” Caution In Place For Fowler Residents

(WLNS) – In an effort to prevent frozen water pipes there is a caution today for people who live in Fowler.

Village officials there are urging people to let a trickle of water run through their pipes during these bitter cold days and nights. A slow trickle will prevent pipes from freezing and bursting. Last year a similar request was made for a period of time during the harsh winter.

The trickle request will stay in place until the temperatures moderate. A village official tells 6 News that the amount of water used while the “trickle” request is in place will be negligible and is unlikely to impact water bills.

Earlier today Fowler schools were delayed for two hours due to a broken water main.

We’ll have an update on 6 News and online.
