(WLNS) – Two Livingston County sheriff’s deputies are nursing bruised egos today after being accidentally shocked with stun guns by two other deputies.
According to the AP and our media partners at WHMI, four deputies were trying to subdue a prisoner at the county jail Tuesday. The man was struggling when he was being placed in a single-person cell. The fight continued and deputies pulled out stun guns to control the prisoner. That’s when things went awry.
During the struggle one deputy ended up shocking another and then a third deputy accidentally shocked the fourth. The prisoner was brought under control and the deputies quickly recovered.
Livingston County Undersheriff Michael Murphy says the prisoner is being examined by medical staff to determine if a health-related issue might have caused his outburst.
