UPDATE: Child abducted from U.P. found safe, suspects in custody

UPDATE: The child has been safely recovered and both suspects are in custody.

Michigan State Police have issued an AMBER Alert for a 5-year-old boy kidnapped from a home in the Upper Peninsula.

Police do not have a photo available of the child, but say he is 5-year-old Zephaniau George Cunningham. He’s described as a 3 foot tall, 40 pound male, with brown hair and brown eyes. Police do not know what kind of clothing he was wearing at the time of the abduction.

One of the suspects is George Stephen Cunningham. He’s described as a white male, with blonde haire and blue eyes. He stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. He also wears glasses.

Cunningham and Zephaniau were last seen in the 9000 block of North Whitefish Point Road in Paradise.

A second man named John Stygler may be traveling with them. Police did not provide a description.

Both suspects are considerd armed and dangerous.

Michigan State Police say the vehicle they were believed to have been driving, driving, a camouflage-colored 1986 Ford F-250 pickup truck, has been located. But Cunningham and Zephaniau were nowhere to be found.
