UPDATE: Lansing man killed by train is identified


UPDATE (Wednesday 9:15 a.m.) – Lansing Police have released the name of the man killed by a train in downtown Lansing Tuesday.

Steven Michael Lawson, 64, of Lansing died in a local hospital after being struck by a train near Michigan Avenue just after 10:40 a.m. Tuesday.

A 64 year old Lansing man has died after apparently being hit by a train this morning near Michigan Avenue and Hill Street.

It is not known at this time what lead to the incident just before 10:40 a.m.

The stopped train blocked traffic on Michigan Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue during the investigation.
