UPDATE: Lockdown lifted at all affected Charlotte schools

School officials have given the “all clear” in the lockdown situation that happened this morning.

Charlotte Interim School Superintendent Richard Ames tells Channel 6 News they lifted the perimeter about 11:39 a.m.

Police are questioning the students they believe are involved.

What authorities are calling a “concerning message” was found in a girls restroom at the Middle School in Charlotte has led to a perimeter lockdown of the main campus.

That includes the Middle School, the Upper Elementary, the High School and Weymouth are all on a perimeter lockdown while local law enforcement investigates.

A perimeter lock down means that no one can enter or exit a building.

According to Charlotte School officials,  Washington, Parkview and Galewood have been notified and are on alert, but are not on a lock-down.

School officials emphasize that all students and staff are safe.
