UPDATE – Brittani Hill, the mother accused of burying her deceased son in her Jackson County backyard, has been arraigned in Jackson District Court. The 22-year-old Hill is charged with concealing the death of an individual and removing a dead body without medical examiner permission. Hill’s bond has been set at $500,000. Her next court appearance has been set for August 11. The child’s father is still jailed in Dayton Ohio while extradition proceedings continue.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The mother of a dead infant is headed back to Jackson County Thursday afternoon.

Twenty-two-year-old Brittani Hill’s son was unearthed in Waterloo Township in Jackson County, Michigan last week. The boy was believed to be around 9-months-old when he died.

Only our sister station 2 NEWS was there when Hill was transferred from the Montgomery County Jail to Jackson County’s custody. The father is still in custody at the Montgomery County Jail in Ohio.

She once lived there with the boy’s father – the two are Dayton natives. Young and Hill told police they had moved from Dayton to Michigan and while they were in Michigan, they claim the baby choked and died, according to Dayton police – who was informed of the tip from an anonymous source.

Jackson Co. officials say the two will be charged with unlawfully removing a body and concealing a death. A cause and manner of death for the child hasn’t yet been determined.
