UPDATE: Spartans crush Badgers 67-55, move to Big Ten title game against Wolverines

UPDATE: The Michigan State Spartans will meet the University of Michigan Wolverines with the Big Ten title on the line Sunday in Chicago.  The Wolverines earned their place in the championship game by manhandling the Minnesota Golden Gophers 76-49.

Sunday’s game will mark the third time this season the two rivals will meet.  The Spartans have won both games this season against Michigan.

You can watch all the championship action Sunday beginning at 3:30 p.m. on WLNS-TV 6.

This game was never really in doubt from the first tip.

The Michigan State Spartans rode blistering shooting to defeat the Wisconsin Badgers in the Big Ten semifinal game today at the United Center in Chicago.

At the half MSU had a 35-27 margin but the Spartans were seemingly in control.

The Badgers stayed within range in the early going of the second half, even closing to within points, but in the end were outgunned by the Spartans.

Big Ten Player of the Year Cassius Winston, who scored 21 points, was hobbled in the first half but was able to continue to play until the final minute of the game.  He’ll have to rest as the Spartans tomorrow face the winner of today’s other semi-final game between Michigan and Minnesota on WLNS-TV 6.

The Spartans are now 27-6 on the year as the head into tomorrow’s title game and Selection Sunday for the upcoming NCAA men’s basketball tourney. You can also watch that selection on WLNS-TV 6 beginning Sunday at 6:00 p.m.
