(WLNS) – The attacks on two children Wednesday rocked the Okemos area. Friday an arrest was made and today the man police say assaulted the kids has been arraigned.
34-year-old Joshua Harding of Lansing today faces charges of sexually assaulting the children, gross indecency and being a habitual offender. Harding has three earlier convictions for sexual assault dating back to 2003. He is being held in the Ingham County Jail without bond.
Meridian Township Police investigators tell 6 News that the two children were attacked Wednesday afternoon in a wooded area on the northern edge of the East Lawn Memorial Garden Cemetery on Bennett Road in Okemos. They were able to give officers a description of their attacker and police made the arrest Friday.
Harding is scheduled to be in court April 16 for a pretrial hearing. Police say the investigation continues and if anyone has information they are asked to contact the Meridian Township Police Department at 517-853-4800 or Crime Stoppers at 517-483-STOP.
