UPDATE:  A Lansing man faces a number of charges in connection with a bizarre police pursuit and arrest earlier this week.

Joshua Lauer has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, fleeing and eluding an officer and drving with a suspended license.

His bond was set at $100,000 and he remains in jail.

He’ll be back in court February 28 for a probable cause hearing.

WLNS – Dewitt Township Police are investigating after a 22-year-old Lansing man fled the scene of a Meijer after running out with stolen property.

The man jumped inside a vehicle right outside of the front doors. Police intercepted the driver but the passenger in the vehicle fled on foot.

The driver made it to Lansing where Police terminated the search.

The driver was later arrested at a residence in Lansing.

The passenger somehow managed to get control of a City of Dewitt patrol car.

Due to locators in the car, it was followed by neighboring Police. The car chase ended as the car pulled up to a dead end.

That man is currently in custody. He is a 30-year-old Lansing man.

We will have more updates for you as they become available.
