DeWitt TWP., Mich (WLNS) – A woman who was out for a morning run today is recovering from serious injuries after being hit by a car.

DeWitt Township Police chief Brian Russell tells 6 News that the woman was running north on Airport Road between Howe and Cutler between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m.

The 30-year-old then dragged herself to the side of the road.

When help arrived she said she had broken her leg while running and did not remember being hit by a car.

Evidence collected at the scene, including skid marks and a broken antenna, led investigators to believe there had been a hit and run.

They are looking now for a car that has damage to the right front and passenger side.

If you have any information you are urged to contact the DeWitt Township Police at 517-669-6578.
