Body found while Lansing Police and fire crews respond to townhome fire

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A Lansing Police Sgt. confirmed that a body was found early Wednesday morning. It happened at a townhome near Waverly and Jolly roads.

Lansing police said officers and fire crews responded to a fire at a townhome on Woodbridge Drive around 4:00 a.m. and when they arrived, police said they found a body behind the building.

Police said they found a person outside of the home who was badly burned. Medical aid was rendered however, the victim did not survive and was pronounced dead.

The victim’s identity and the cause of the fire is unknown.
