UPDATE: One person has died in a house fire in Lansing

Around 4:06 AM this morning– fire crews responded to calls of a structure fire on West Holmes Rd. in Lansing.

Lansing Fire Chief tells 6 News one male victim, approximately 50 years old, was pronounced dead on scene.

A men and a woman had already escaped from the engulfed home– and attempted to direct fire crews to the possible location of the individual still inside.

However, the small one and one-half story house had already sustained heavy fire conditions in more than 50% of the house.

Lansing Fire Investigators and Lansing Police Detectives are on scene and investigating the cause. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
