Congressman Walberg on State of the Union: President Obama missed opportunities to unite country

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WLNS) – Following President Obama’s final State of the Union address, republican Congressman Tim Walberg said the president missed the opportunity to “unite the country around bipartisan solutions.”

Walberg said, “Unfortunately, the President missed that opportunity, taking the usual go-it-alone approach and describing many of the same outdated policies we’ve heard so many times before.”

He went on to say, “The challenges of the 21st Century require us to develop new solutions and a better path forward. In an increasingly unsafe world, we need to strengthen our national security and protect the American people.”

Congressman Walberg also said the economy is sluggish and that more good-paying jobs need to be created.

I’m working to empower working families in Michigan, not grow the size of Washington, and I hope the President will work with us to find common ground,” said Congressman Walberg.
