LANSING, MI (WLNS)– A new building in Lansing will run nine stories into the sky along Michigan Avenue – one of the city’s major thoroughfares.
That’s according to Mayor Virg Bernero and city officials, who made the announcement on Thursday.
Called the “SkyVue on Michigan,” the 667,000 square foot building will feature stores, shops, and more than 350 apartments.
It will also feature indoor tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts.
“This development will help redefine the corridor as a bustling, central hub of activity – a truly global village – for professionals, students, visitors and residents of both the cities of Lansing and East Lansing,” Bernero said in a news release.
The structure will back up against the Frandor Shopping Center and sit across the road from a planned development called the “Red Cedar Renaissance.” Together, the two projects add up to $350 million dollars in private investments.
Construction will start in November and the building should open by the summer of 2017.
The developers are the Ambling University Development Group from Atlanta, Georgia.
